Contact and support
Write in English or Chinese. One address for everything: questions, bugs, purchases, privacy requests and account deletion.
Reporting a problem
The more of this you include, the faster we can help:
- Your phone or tablet and its system version, for example “iPhone 15, iOS 26.1” or “Pixel 8, Android 16”.
- The Shuye version, if you know it: on Android it’s under Settings → Apps → Shuye; on iPhone, the App Store page lists it under Version History.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. The exact wording of any message on screen helps a lot.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can.
- For a page that read badly: the photo, if you’re happy to share it, or the sentence that went wrong.
- For a purchase: the store (App Store or Google Play), the plan, and roughly when you bought it. Please don’t send card details; we never need them.
- If you’re signed in, the email shown in Me → Account, so we can find your account.
Before you write
- “Couldn’t find Chinese text”: try a flatter, brighter photo with the page filling the frame. The scan is given back automatically.
- Translations missing on a page: tap Retry in the banner at the top of the page. It doesn’t use a scan.
- No voice for Listen: on iPhone, add a Chinese voice in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices. On Android, install or update Speech Services by Google and add Chinese voice data.
- Premium not showing: make sure you’re signed in to the account you bought it with, then use Restore purchases in Me → Shuye Premium.
- Cancelling or a refund: subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Cancel in your store settings (Me → Shuye Premium → Manage subscription takes you there). Refunds are requested from the store; see the Terms.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all its data yourself, straight away, in Me → Account → Delete account. If you can’t open the app, email us instead. The Delete account page has both, step by step.
Privacy requests
To ask for a copy of your data, a correction or anything else under data-protection law, write to the same address with “Privacy” in the subject. The Privacy Policy explains your rights.
